Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from their derby defeat as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Etihad Stadium on Thursday evening.
The Citizens fell to a disappointing 2-1 loss last weekend in a big blow to their title hopes this season.
A superb header from Jack Grealish put the visitors in the ascendancy, but the game quickly slipped from their hands after the goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
That was their second consecutive defeat, with Pep Guardiola’s side also taking a beating at Southampton to go out of the Carabao Cup.
Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo netted a goal each for the Saints before the break, and City failed to make a comeback in the second-half even after featuring their best players off the bench to end up losing 2-0.
The Manchester giants are currently eight points adrift of Arsenal in the Premier League table, with this Man City news a highly unwelcome surprise for all their fans.
Meanwhile, Tottenham will also enter the upcoming fixture on the back of an embarrassing derby loss.
Arsenal completely dominated the away fixture on Sunday and wholly deserved to come away with a 2-0 victory.
The Gunners found themselves ahead through Hugo Lloris’ own goal before Martin Odegaard’s sensational effort completed the job in the first-half.
Spurs came out with a positive attitude after the interval but failed to breach the visitors’ defences and ultimately lost 2-0.
Antonio Conte’s side have been dreadful after the 2022 World Cup break as they have managed to win only one of their previous four matches in the top-flight.
They are currently five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, despite having played an extra match.
Match Preview
Manchester City
Manchester City have the best team in the Premier League right now. Despite being eight points behind Arsenal in the table, many are still inclined to think City will hit a superb run of form to lift the title in the end.
However, their recent performances at the Etihad doesn’t inspire much confidence. They failed to take full points against Everton after Brentford humbled the champions by a 2-1 victory.
Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs are competing for the top-four this season but their form has completely nosedived recently. They have managed to secure only three victories from their previous nine Premier League matches.
However, the North London outfit were brilliant against City in the top-flight last season. They completed the double over the champions after spectacularly prevailing 3-2 at the Etihad in February last year.

Spurs were exceptional against City last season, but we believe Pep Guardiola’s side will win comfortably this Thursday due to their quality of players.
