Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolverhampton Wanderers – prediction, team news, line-ups

Tottenham Hotspur will square off with Wolverhampton Wanderers in North London in an exciting Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.

At a time when Spurs are fourth in the league standings, Gary O’Neil’s side are sitting 11th in the table.

Match Preview

Ange Postecoglou’s men were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw by Everton at the Goodison Park encounter earlier this month.

But they returned to winning ways last weekend as they triumphed over Brighton & Hove Albion in a thrilling 2-1 home victory.

The Seagulls took the lead after Pascal Gross scored from the penalty spot early in the first-half.

Spurs created several scoring opportunities but Jason Steele’s excellence in goal kept the scoreline 1-0.

However, the Lilywhites were finally rewarded for their relentless pressure at the hour mark when Pape Matar Sarr found the target at his second attempt.

Then deep into the stoppage-time, Brennan Johnson popped up with the winner to home crowd into ecstasy.

Meanwhile, Wolves slumped to a disappointing 2-0 loss to Brentford at the Molineux Stadium last time out.

Christian Norgaard scored the opener just after the half hour before Ivan Toney sealed full points for the visitors with a crisp finish on 77 minutes.

Gary O’Neil’s men had the opportunity to build on their brilliant 4-2 success at Chelsea, but they failed to breach the Bees’ defence and couldn’t get anything from the home fixture.

Despite the defeat, Wolves are still 11th in the Premier League table with 32 points from 24 matches.

Team News

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou faces plenty of injury issues this weekend. Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie have been ruled out for the upcoming match due to fitness issues, while Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, and Fraser Forster will also be missing.

On the other hand, Wolves suffered a big blow against Brentford as Matheus Cunha picked up a serious knock that is set to keep him sidelined for a number of weeks.
