Ange Postecoglou took up the challenge of taking Tottenham Hotspur back into top-four contention after the club’s disappointing 2022-23 campaign.
The 58-year-old, who had enjoyed huge success in Scotland with Celtic, made an excellent first impression as Spurs won eight of their opening 10 league matches.
But a massive slump in form towards the end of the campaign ultimately put paid to a Champions League return.
However, the Lilywhites supporters are unlikely to judge Postecoglou very harshly if they consider Harry Kane’s departure and just how bad the team were during the previous season.
The Australian boss is now aiming for an excellent 2024-25 Premier League campaign and a strong showing in the pre-season fixtures could help in building momentum.
The North Londoners, unlike their league rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, will be doing their pre-season touring in Asia.
But their first game is set to take place in Scotland where they face Hearts at the Tynecastle Stadium in Edinburgh on July 17.
The Lilywhites will take on Queens Park Rangers three days later in London before flying to Japan to go head-to-head with Vissel Kobe on July 27 at the National Stadium in Tokyo.
Tottenham will then meet an All-Star team representing the top Korean league on August 1 ahead of their blockbuster clash with Bayern Munich three days later at the same venue.
The two top European sides will also face each other in the Visit Malta Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 10 before their Premier League opener on 19th.
