Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion Preview & Prediction; Will Harry Kane Stay Beyond Summer?

Saturday’s Premier League action gets underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a high-stakes match between Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Spurs have established themselves as favourites in a keenly-contested top-four Premier League race after completing a 4-0 rout of mid-table Aston Villa last weekend.

Antonio Conte’s men have now won four consecutive league games by an aggregate score of 14-2 to move three points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal and six of underperforming Manchester United.

The Italian manager has orchestrated a noticeable revival in north London, guiding Tottenham to third-most Premier League points behind Liverpool and Manchester City since his appointment in November.

Another routine victory over an out-of-sorts Brighton side in a match available to watch live online via soccer streams is a bare minimum Conte would expect out of his men.

According to the Daily Mail, the ex-Chelsea boss is expected in the Spurs dugout for the Seagulls’ visit on Saturday lunchtime after his recent bout of coronavirus.

Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur

As mentioned above, Tottenham tore Villa apart in Birmingham last time out to take their run of scoring 2+ goals to seven consecutive Premier League games, a feat they only once bettered back in 2011.

Spurs will be lining up another successful weekend after beating Brighton in all four previous Premier League meetings in London by an aggregate scoreline of 7-2.

Indeed, Tottenham have defeated Brighton twice this season, following up a 3-1 FA Cup triumph with a comfortable 2-0 win in the reverse fixture at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton & Hove Albion

After netting just one goal in seven Premier League games (D1, L6), Brighton claimed a surprising 2-1 win away to Arsenal last weekend to record their first league victory since mid-February.

However, the Seagulls’ quest to record back-to-back league wins for the first time since September has one massive flaw – they cannot cope with Tottenham in London.

Only one of Brighton’s nine league visits to the nation’s capital to meet Spurs has yielded success (D2, L6), while they have lost all five previous such fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion Prediction

Before eking out a stunning win at the Emirates, Brighton looked on the beach already, yet they could now feel capable of pulling off another upset.

Tottenham cannot afford to take the Seagulls lightly, meaning Harry Kane and Son Heung-min will have to maintain their form trajectories to hand the London faithful another pleasant afternoon.

Conte’s headline duo boasts enough quality and audacity to blow Graham Potter’s team away.

Tottenham 3-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

Will Harry Kane Stay Beyond Summer?

Man City’s persistent attempts to lure Kane away from London were making the Tottenham transfer news headlines throughout the entire summer of 2021.

The Cityzens looked hell-bent on landing one of the most prolific Premier League strikers and were ready to splash out north of £100m to get the deal over the line.

However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy blew the reigning English champions out of the water with his overwhelming asking price to keep hold of his captain.

Following a troublesome start to the season under ex-manager Nuno Espirito Santo, Kane has hit the ground running under Conte, as well as, the entire Tottenham squad to be honest.

There is no doubt the 28-year-old is one of the best in the business, especially on his good day.

No wonder Spurs are desperate to retain their standout striker beyond the summer, and as per the Daily Mail, they could be on the verge of completing that task.

Kane has thrived under Conte and seems ready to turn down an offer from Manchester United to pledge his future to the north London outfit, who are on the cusp of pipping the Red Devils to a top-four finish.

Man City are seemingly out of the race to sign the Englishman, as the Cityzens now look to accelerate their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

That would hand Tottenham’s bid to keep Kane a significant boost, as could Man United’s failed attempt to qualify for next season’s Champions League group phase.

So yes, we believe Kane will stay in London.
